Target Cultural Association
"Alvo" was formed by young people from the Hip Hop movement and skateboarding in 2005 in the Rubem Berta neighborhood on the outskirts of Porto Alegre/RS with the objective of carrying out art and education projects, social actions, income generation projects and creative economy . We became known by the news website Alvovirtual.com which remained on the air until 2013 and was one of the main channels for promoting the hip hop scene in RS, which reached 100,000 hits per month.
We have been a Culture Point of the RS Network of Points of Culture since 2009 and we have a Community Library that is part of the Beabah Network of Community Libraries. In our space we offer courses, workshops and cultural activities open to the public throughout the year. In the social sphere, we promoted the permanent Solidarity Quarantine campaign, which has already donated more than 40 tons of food and thousands of items of clothing during the COVID19 pandemic.
We promote decentralized actions in Schools, Universities, Parks and Squares, always bringing culture and experiences.
Within the scope of social innovation, we always seek to align new technological processes with the expansion of the social repertoire through formations and affective connections that together create processes of cultural making in a critical, analytical and innovative way.
